IS IT IN YOU?
I had some of my family over just hanging out and someone noticed that my dog was limping and said “you need to take him to the vet”. Earlier I notice he was limping I didn’t know why but my first response was to use my power and authority. I “Decreed and declared that he be healed and whole, that whatever was in or on his body get off him now! Go in the name of Jesus I call you healed, whole and normal in Jesus name”. I totally expected that he would be back to normal soon and a few days later he was walking and running normal.
I shared that with you to point out how we as believers are to respond to life and circumstances from a kingdom mindset rather than the worldly mindset that we are accustomed to. Worldly thinking says call the vet so many times in our day-to-day life we are faced with difficulties, challenges or stuff that happens and our natural response is to do what we’ve been trained worldly to do; but as believers our natural response must be from the kingdom mindset FRIST. We have another way to view life and another way to respond to life as a believer. We need to make sure that we are acting and reacting to life from our kingdom perspective in everything we do.
Being in the kingdom and the kingdom being in you
I don’t know if you caught what I did earlier in the story, I used my power and authority and I decreed and declared I didn’t pray there is a difference. (there is a time for pray and time for decreeing and declaring, I do both) That difference is knowing who you are and who’s you are. When you understand that God has given you this power and authority if you want things to change you have to activate your power and authority.
(If I was the owner of a store and I had a general manager who I gave the power to operate the store, I wouldn’t want him to call me for every situation that came up I’d want him to handle it.)
We as believers need to realize that God has given us this power and authority and we need to stop calling on Him to do things that we are equipped and authorized to handle. I was taught that I should pray and ask God for healing, income, safety and everything else, when in fact God has given you and me (believers) the power and authority to get what we need. Jesus gives us the blueprint to follow. Study how Jesus responded to life, He’s the key for how we need to respond and more importantly the philosophy He walked in.
Here’s a piece of that philosophy.
Matthew 6 (Living Bible)
25 “So my counsel is: Don’t worry about things—food, drink, and clothes. For you already have life and a body—and they are far more important than what to eat and wear. 26 Look at the birds! They don’t worry about what to eat—they don’t need to sow or reap or store up food—for your heavenly Father feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than they are. 27 Will all your worries add a single moment to your life? 28 “And why worry about your clothes? Look at the field lilies! They don’t worry about theirs. 29 Yet King Solomon in all his glory was not clothed as beautifully as they. 30 And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and gone tomorrow, won’t he more surely care for you, O men of little faith? 31-32 “So don’t worry at all about having enough food and clothing. Why be like the heathen? For they take pride in all these things and are deeply concerned about them. But your heavenly Father already knows perfectly well that you need them, 33 and he will give them to you if you give him first place in your life and live as he wants you to.34 “So don’t be anxious about tomorrow. God will take care of your tomorrow too. Live one day at a time.[b]
Job 22 (Amplified classic Bible)
28 YOU shall also decide and decree a thing, and it shall be established for you; and the light [of God’s favor] shall shine upon your ways.
Matthew 16 (Amplified Bible, Classic)
19 I will give YOU the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind (declare to be improper and unlawful) on earth [i]must be what is already bound in heaven; and whatever you loose (declare lawful) on earth [j]must be what is already loosed in heaven.
John 16 (Living Bible)
23 At that time YOU won’t need to ask me for anything, for you can go directly to the Father and ask him, and he will give you what you ask for because you use my name.
Once you get the revelation of who you are, walking in this power and authority comes naturally, make sure your words are filled with faith.
See yourself correctly!
You’re a king’s kid, You’re royalty; act like it!
Seek the word because the word works if you work it.
